About the organisation
Horse Aid is a new NFP which works with veterans and first responders to improve their mental wellbeing using the power of connection with horses.
I’m sure you’re aware that many of these people suffer from PTSD, anxiety and stress from their experiences in the service them give to Australian. We offer several programs where they learn new skills such as communication and problem solving whilst working with ex-racehorses. An animal with the similarities of being highly trained and often discharged through injury or retired early and left to cope with the fall out on their own. Our lead trainer is experienced and classically trained Scott Brodie - also ex mounted police trainer.
Some more info about Scott’s previous work with veterans can be found here on this recent interview with The Project
Our website is a work in progress but there is also info here: www.horseaid.org.au
