About the role
Our partner is an institute that exists to bridge the digital gap in education across Kenya and East Africa. Kenya is a growing IT hub but this is not reflected in the educational system, often due to a lack of resources.
The organisation began by setting up computer labs in rural Kenyan areas with modules which could be downloaded for self-study. They have now set up an institute which delivers a 3 month intensive programme in tech, design and business and they support graduates to seek employment afterwards.
They have expanded rapidly and many of their procedures no longer fit their requirements and have
become slow. As their first volunteer you will be helping to develop their accounting systems and procedures.
On this assignment you will carry out a full review of their procedures and controls. You will then provide recommendations for best practise and staff training so that they can be ready for audits.
The partner will be able to cover the cost of your visa.
