About the role
Our partner works globally to support disabled people to fulfil their potential and live the lives they choose. They work to ensure that the basic rights and needs of their beneficiaries are met and that they are not marginalised from society.
They are working alongside 100 schools to improve their accessibility, train teachers in inclusive methods and establish child-to-child clubs for children with and without disabilities to learn and play together.
The first AfID volunteer undertook an assessment of the Southern African Regional Office to assess the current effectiveness of the region’s financial management and the extent to which their policies and procedures are being followed. They identified weaknesses in capacity and made a start in implementing recommendations and training finance and programmes staff.
The work done has already made a positive impact, and they are seeking a second AfID volunteer to build on the work done by the first volunteer, further embedding good accounting practices and internal controls.
The partner will be able to cover the cost of your flights, accommodation & visa.
