About the role

We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced and energetic people to join our Board as volunteer directors to help drive our organisation forward to grow and improve our services.  This includes applicants possessing a clear willingness to lend a hand to sponsor, lead and drive some of our initiatives.  We are seeking up to 3 or 4 new directors to join our existing Board.

We are specifically interested to engage with applicants that have diverse skills and track record experience in areas such as diversifying and growing new disability service lines, networking and advocacy in the disability and human services sectors, marketing and branding, or property management and feasibility studies.  Further, it is important that applicants possess networks and connections in varied sectors that we can tap into.   Ideally, applicants would also have experience in and a desire for taking on dedicated Board roles – including Chairperson, Deputy Chair, and Secretary.

Please send through a brief summary of your skills and experience (max half page) as they relate to our requirements set out above, and your CV (max 3 pages please), to board@anowah.org.au for consideration and a possible subsequent discussion.

About the organisation

Organisation name : Anowah Community Living

Anowah Community Living (Anowah) is an NFP based in Horsley Park and was established in 1967.  We support authentic social inclusion of people with disability so that they are active and engaged citizens of Sydney’s Third City.  We provide supported independent living and associated disability services to a settled but small client base of up to 30 clients.

Central to our history is that our service has endless stories of personal care and connections between clients, their families and carers, and our staff.

We are embarking on considerable change - exciting new strategic directions that include expanding our disability support services, an organisational rebrand and developing a long-term property strategy - to name a few.  It is a very exciting time to be part of our organisation, making a genuine impact on the lives of our clients and their families and carers - and, importantly, to also support our high quality and engaged workforce.
