About the role
inCommunity’s board of passionate, highly qualified professionals is seeking to enhance the skills of the existing board and appoint two (2) additional board members with:
Financial and accounting experience; or
Service delivery experience in a not-for-profit setting, preferably within small to medium sized organisations.
This is a voluntary position.
Board meetings are held in-person and/or virtually, with up to 6-7 meetings per year. There is also an expectation that board members will be a member of at least one (1) Board sub-committee and have time to undertake other relevant activities including board development, networking events.

inCommunity is a registered charity, Registered Australian Body and an Incorporated Association in Queensland. inCommunity has been offering support throughout Ipswich for nearly 40 years, providing a range of programs to those experiencing or at risk of homelessness. These include mobile housing support, a woman’s drop-in service, homeless outreach, a crisis accommodation program for young people, transitional housing, Tenancy Skills Institute, and programs delivered in partnership with other community organisations.
inCommunity has experienced substantial growth over the last 5 years, and continues to operate across Ipswich through its inCommunity Connect programs and across Queensland, and most recently interstate through the Tenancy Skills Institute.
