About the role
St George Community Transport is seeking Volunteer Carers / Bus Assistants to ensure our clients have a safe and enjoyable experience. STGCT provides various programs for clients such as Social Outings, Shopping and taking clients to appointments.
Our Volunteer Carers work closely with the drivers to provide our clients with a safe supportive and comfortable transport experience, this includes:
• Supporting clients to access and exit the vehicle safely
• Providing companionship and conversation to clients during transportation or whilst on social outings
• assisting the driver in loading walkers and shopping bags into the vehicle
We are looking for people with great communication skills who are good at helping, reassuring, and providing companionship to our clients.
If you enjoy looking after the elderly and having fun, and if you are a kind and compassionate person who would like to give some of your time to our seniors, we would love to hear from you!
Our services support people to retain their independence. Many of our clients would not leave the house without our support. If you are keen to make a difference in our community, we would love to hear from you.
Orientation and training are provided.
