About the Role
Are you social media savvy and passionate about advocating for the rights of women and girls? Are you keen to build your experience in communications while contributing to improving the lives of survivors of sex trafficking and abuse?
Then Project Didi Australia has a role for you!
Working closely with our partners in Nepal, Project Didi is committed to building meaningful futures for women and girls affected by sex trafficking and abuse, through targeted holistic care, education and income generation training. We’re looking for a self-motivated and creative volunteer Communications Officer to join our team.
Why should you apply?
You will play a key role in communicating the why of our work and engaging Australian and international audiences with issues of gender-based violence, equality and education.
You’ll have the opportunity to explore topics that you’re passionate about while developing your skills in writing, marketing and public relations.
You’ll gain experience in the international development sector, working for a growing and dynamic organisation.
You’ll have flexibility and creative license, working with our Communications Manager via Skype and email – ideal for a remote worker, university student, stay at home parent or just someone passionate about the work we do!
This is a 6 month voluntary role that requires a commitment of approximately 8 hours (1 day) of work a week. You may choose how you distribute these hours over the week. You will be in regular email contact with our Communications Manager and must be available to Skype every 2-3 weeks.
