About the role
Volunteer Drivers (x2) for McAuley Community Services for Women
McAuley Community Services for Women is a ministry of the Institute of Sisters of Mercy of Australia and Papua New Guinea. We are committed to advocating for a better, safer and just society, through working with women and their children affected by family violence, mental illness or homelessness.
We have a new opportunity for Volunteer Drivers (two positions).These positions are for 3 to 6 hours per shift on an adhoc basis. The main tasks of the volunteer driver will be to assist women and children to move to secure accommodation, or to attend appointments. The successful applicants may also be asked to assist with assembly of flat pack furniture.
Ideally applicants will be able to demonstrate:
Current Victorian Driver’s Licence and willing to drive beyond the local area
Flexibility to be available at short notice (2 to 10 days)
Willing to be ‘on-call’ for 2-3 days a week
Ability to walk easily up and down stairs, good balance
High level interpersonal communication skills.
Good organisational skills
Ability to work independently as appropriate, and following instructions.
A National Name check and a Working with Children Check are required prior to commencement.
