About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, ‘people person’ (or pair) to join our team! Possible Dreams International (https://www.possibledreams.org/) is a non-profit which partners with rural communities in Swaziland to improve health through a strategy of upholding dignity, emergency relief aid, and sustainability projects. Our programs are Swazi-run and our Swazi team is supported by a passionate, diverse community mostly based in Melbourne. Position description follows:
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Recognise the efforts of our diverse volunteers in creative ways e.g. annual end-of-year thank you postcard/card to volunteers, organising volunteer of the year awards for the Annual Gala Dinner, thank you emails post fundraising events, posts in our social media groups
- Recognise the contributions of our partner schools and churches, and key individuals within these organisations
- Organise social catch ups (at least twice yearly) to maintain volunteer engagement and boost morale, strengthen relationships between new and old volunteers, and celebrate our achievements
- Liaise with the newsletter editors and social media coordinators to recognise and feature one outstanding volunteer per edition
- Obtain feedback from volunteers about current levels of engagement and ways to improve this
- Approach new schools/clubs/religious and non-religious community groups to support PDI and build relationships
- Manage requests for speakers and liaise with volunteers from our speaker database
