About the Role

We are looking for someone to help manage our volunteer requirements.

The role will include;
Sourcing volunteers as needed – just as I am doing now – through various sources
Following up with initial contact to ensure both parties are a good fit
Developing an introductory process for new volunteers to our team

Who are we?
Bicycles for Humanity is a simple grassroots organisation that aims to make a life changing difference in poor countries through improving basic mobility. This enables easier access to education, health care, the wider community and other resources such as water.

Essentially what we do is collect second hand bikes, pack them in shipping containers and send them mostly to Africa. The beauty of the program is that the container becomes a workshop. Locals are trained in both business and mechanical skills and are empowered to develop ongoing sustainable businesses.

The Melbourne chapter was established in 2008 and we are looking to celebrate our 10 anniversary next year. We have just sent our 18th container of bikes to Africa, close to 8000 bikes.

This volunteer manager role is not onerous and we are happy to discuss how this role might look/evolve.

Many thanks for getting in touch and having a chat to see if you would to be involved.
