About the role
Left and Right Counselling is not-for-profit counselling organisation for young people aged 12 to 25. Our counsellors are highly skilled in assessment, case conceptualisation and the therapeutic process needed to offer in-depth support to our clients. Left and Right uses a person-centered therapeutic approach to empower our clients to build resilience and coping skills for the future and offers both short and long-term therapy and case management.
We are looking for a Psychologist to work with us in a volunteer capacity to provide clinical expertise and consultation on matters of risk management, referral and diagnosis for our client base. Working up to 4-8 hours per fortnight initially, the role has the potential to increase as our client base grows.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide In-depth assessment and diagnosis where possible
Prescribe and administer appropriate therapeutic process according to diagnosis
Monitor patients to determine efficacy and potential side effects of medications
Develop a treatment plan, measure progress against the plan, and make adjustments as needed
Provide crisis intervention as needed
Complete all necessary clinical documentation in an accurate and timely manner
Coordinate and communicate with case managers and other stakeholders about treatment and care
Flexible and relaxed working environment
Work with young people aged 12 to 25

Relevant qualifications and experience
Registration with relevant governing bodies
A valid Working with Children’s Check
Consent to a Federal Police Check
