About the role
Do you have a passion for wanting to help young people to reach their true potential in life? In particular, for supporting those with high-functioning autism or Asperger’s? If so, you share a common passion with Kwest4Learning.
Kwest4Learning provides a number of groups, workshops and programs that are tailored for people on the autism spectrum.
Our Social Groups are life changing for people on the autism spectrum. We are committed to providing opportunities for young people to find and make friends in an environment that is safe, supportive and conducive to building our participants’ confidence in social situations.
We are looking for dedicated volunteers to support our Social Group programs in Turramurra, on Sydney’s North Shore. We are currently running a youth group (9-14 year old) and an adolescent and young adult group (15 years+) each week on a Wednesday evening. You will need to be available weekly, and we ask that you commit to a minimum of 6 months.
Successful applicants will:
- be passionate about supporting people with autism to reach their potential;
- have a positive approach to empowering and educating young people with autism;
- have effective communication skills;
- be available each week on a Wednesday evening;
- hold a Working With Children’s Check (volunteer) clearance.
