Help us increase the impact of sector focused news.
Parveen SMedia organisations across the globe are turning to subscribers to help them grow and continue to be viable businesses. So now, we’re asking for your support too.
Pro Bono News is the only news service dedicated to the 6 sectors of Australia's for-purpose economy, and we believe it's in the common interest to stay free for everyone. Here's why...
Right now Australia is changing for good. The estimated XX million Australians working across the 6 sectors of the social economy have become a force to be reckoned with. Together we can make our society not only survive but thrive, by transforming the economic landscape, growing the for-purpose sector and putting the heart back into policy. We can do this by stepping out of our siloes and working together as one community informed by expertise.
I founded Pro Bono Australia 22 years ago with this vision - to create a community for those with purpose and create sustainable impact. We have evolved to being a conduit for the for-purpose economy; sharing our platform to connect, enable and provide a voice for those seeking to produce positive change through our news service, events and surveys.
In addition to political tailwinds, there is a growing need for purpose coverage and for different voices to represent emerging aspects of the sector. We’ve given a voice to the sector for 2 decades but now is a time of growth and opportunity. We serve 2.3 million readers a year, and 75,000 people rely on our free newsletters. But there's still a huge opportunity for supporting more people across our 6 sectors. And the more we can grow, the more influence we can all have as a powerful voice of change. We want to cover more on social enterprise, social impact, impact investing, advocacy etc. We need more journalists and resources to continue to deliver the exceptional news standards that we pride ourselves on to provide access to expert voices, and to elevate the sector as a whole.
We spoke to a plethora of experts within publishing worldwide as well as a few of our loyal readers, and the sentiment was the same - knowledge is power and that is what we offer to our readers, for free.
We believe it’s in the community's interest to keep our news independent. Support us to keep our quality, trusted news open to everyone who needs it, and in return we’ll support you and your professional development with a discount on resources, invitations to sector networking events, and white papers on key industry issues.
You'll be helping to increase the impact of sector focused news. That means more dedicated journalists, more topics brought to light, deeper dives into issues at the forefront of the purpose led sector, and a louder voice for the common good.
We can only do what we do thanks to our supporters. I hope you will consider supporting us, as we continue to report on the for-purpose sector in the years ahead.
