About the role
Ronald McDonald House Monash works to enhance the quality of life for families with sick children by providing a home-away-from-home that is welcoming, caring and supportive. The House offers a shoulder to lean on yet privacy, safety, comfort and peace of mind. Since opening in 1993 they have helped over 10,000 families. The 200 Volunteers are the “face” of the organisation. With appropriate training, they follow a strong code of conduct and provide a friendly atmosphere for parents and children.
The Volunteer Manager reports to the Executive Officer and the House / Family Room Manager. You will be responsible for all aspects of the development, recruitment, training, coordination and maintenance of the Volunteer Program by building volunteer capacity to support staff and guest families using the Family Room or staying at the House, or volunteers who participate in other activities.
Key priorities for the Volunteer Manager are to recruit and build a continuing resource of volunteers with diverse skills, ensure effective and reliable rostering to cover all shifts, and nurture morale in the workplace.
For this important leadership role, you will need at least 3-5 years’ experience in Volunteer Program Management. With proven ability to organise and implement volunteer operations, you will be a collaborative manager who has the capacity to drive positive change initiatives for continuous improvement.
