WAYSS is a well-established and respected provider of homelessness and support services in the Southern Melbourne and Bayside Peninsula catchment. WAYSS provides a range of support and services to women and children who have experienced family violence with a focus on ensuring safety, mitigating the risk of family violence, and addressing the accountability of perpetrators.

About the Opportunity

WAYSS has a valuable opportunity available for a Risk Assessment and Management Panel (RAMP) Coordinator to join our Family Violence High Risk Response team based in Dandenong. The purpose of the RAMP is to improve service responses to women and children who are at imminent and serious risk of harm from family violence. RAMP meetings are held monthly with core agency members who comprehensively assess the risk of RAMP cases and develop coordinated action plans across agencies in response to this risk.

The aim of the RAMP is to:

• Reduce risk and harm to women and children at serious and imminent risk from family violence.

• Reduce the potential for perpetrators to pose a serious and imminent threat to women and children and increase the accountability of perpetrators.

• Strengthen the capacity of the existing service system. Position Responsibilities In this role you will coordinate the effective operation of the RAMP (Panel) and coordinate the risk mitigation response of the RAMP members.

• Develop and maintain relationships with core member agencies.

• Facilitate referrals to the RAMP and assist in assessing the risk of RAMP cases for referral.

• Prepare information for RAMP members and provide informed support to them.

• Support the RAMP Chairs in the monitoring and ongoing risk management of RAMP cases.

• Report on RAMP data and performance.

• Develop and participate in innovative practice to support the RAMP framework. To be successful in this role you will need to have:

• A comprehensive understanding of the family violence service system.

• The ability to reflect on and analyse complex problems and provide workable solutions.

• A capacity to adapt, support and manage change.

• The skills in building relationships with a range of government and other key stakeholders at a systemic and individual case planning level.

• The ability to flexibly manage competing priorities.

Key Selection Criteria – Essential

• A comprehensive understanding of the family violence service system including knowledge of the Family Violence Protection Act 2008.

• A comprehensive and practical knowledge and understanding of the Common Risk Assessment Framework.

• Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, share knowledge and experience with others.

• Demonstrated understanding of the assessment of risk in relation to family violence and provision of crisis intervention and casework with women and children from diverse backgrounds who have experienced family violence.

• Excellent understanding of the gendered nature and complex dynamic of family violence including the impact of family violence on women and children and the ability to articulate and apply to practice and advocacy.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the principles of equity, diversity, continual improvement, risk management and occupational health and safety.
