An exciting and unique opportunity now exists to develop a new Credentialing Framework for the Social Work Profession in Australia. The AASW Credentialing Programme which comprises the design and development of a Credentialing Framework, and associated assessment processes, will serve as the benchmark for social work professionals involved in providing more specialised services to the Australian community, such as mental health.

Drawing upon your in-depth understanding and experience of contemporary social work practice within a range of settings, you will play a leading role in facilitating workshops with senior educational advisors and industry representatives as part of the information gathering, assessment and validation process. These academic and industry-based insights will ensure the new Credentialing Framework encompasses all of the areas of expertise required within each of the specialist practice areas.

Ideally the successful candidate will be a qualified social worker with full membership of the AASW. However, applicants who have gained a similar range of experience working in other related fields are strongly encouraged to apply.

Your experience in working with stakeholders in developing credentialing frameworks is supported by your familiarity with applying project management principles to ensure a structured and outcomes-focused approach to project deliverables.

AASW’s Melbourne Office is based in Melbourne’s inner north (close to the Royal Melbourne Hospital). The role is full-time, (part-time hours considered) and is available on a 12 month fixed-term contract basis.
