At MercyCare we strive to deliver high quality services that are tailored to the needs and wants of the people and community we serve. An opportunity to join our Youth and Homelessness team at MercyCare has arisen. We are seeking a self-motivated, passionate and contemporary Case Worker to join our Family Wellbeing Support Service program based from Mirrabooka, on a full-time basis for a 12 month contract (15 March 2017 to 14 March 2018).
The Case Worker Family Wellbeing Support Services will provide outreach intervention and support for children and young people. Intervention and support will be strength based, holistic and family centred. Support can be intensive, short term or in the form of community outreach.
At this stage funding for the program and position is to 30 June 2017 and we are awaiting confirmation of an extension to funding. Attractive salary packaging and vehicle options are available as part of this package.
Minimum requirements
• Tertiary (Bachelor) qualification in Social or Behavioural Science (Social Work, Psychology, Social Science etc.)
• Demonstrated experience working with children, young people and families from diverse backgrounds.
• Experience working with children, young people and families experiencing a mental illness, or symptoms of mental illness.
• An understanding of evidence based approaches and interventions in working with children, young people and their families
• National Police Clearance (obtained within the last 6 months) and a valid WA Working with Children Check.
