The New Enterprise Incentive Scheme (NEIS) is a well established program which assists individuals to become independent from government unemployment benefits  by supporting them to start and learn how to run their own small business.

The Role

You will drive the delivery of the NEIS program to participants of a broad mix of ages, gender and culture, across metro and western Sydney. You will lead and coach a team of business mentors supporting and motivating students to complete a Certificate III in micro-business operations and subsequent business plan to be reviewed by you for progression to the implementation phase.

In addition to providing direct support and mentoring to participants in establishing and managing a small business, your responsibilities will include: 

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with referral networks, community and other training organisations
  • Conducting NEIS information sessions for potential participants in the scheme
  • Assessing the commercial viability of applications to refer to the NEIS training program

 

Skills Required

You have proven success running a small to medium size business operation and would like to contribute to the development of others through sharing your extensive business knowledge and experience. You demonstrate a genuine passion for coaching and mentoring others and have experience leading and managing a team to achieve results.
