Public Relations and Media Experience

We are looking for a volunteer who has good public relations and media experience who can help us get the word out about the good work we do for women across the globe. This role would suit someone who is semi-retired or working part-time and wanting to make a contribution to women’s health.
Ideally, the volunteer role would be two days per week for a three month period.
The volunteer role is based in our support office in Melbourne’s CBD.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Strategy: developing and executing a national fundraising campaign, utilising existing assets and creating new ones as required;
- Media: managing campaign messaging and relations across print, radio and digital channels to achieve maximum reach and impact;
- Monitoring and reporting: ensuring efforts are measured and reported on to demonstrate effectiveness of campaign strategy investment and resources.
You will have:
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal;
- A strategic mindset, able to make the most of scarce resources for maximum impact;
- Excellent negotiation skills, capable of ‘owning’ the cause, speaking on behalf of the brand and convincing others of the importance of our social mission, children by choice;
- A desire to contribute productively, deliver social impact and overcome obstacles;
- A strong position on reproductive choice and a champion for all women.
Desirable qualifications and experience:
- Communications degree or equivalent;
- At least 5 years’ experience in public and media relations roles; and
- Some cause-related marketing or fundraising experience preferable.
