About the role

SUMMARY OF ROLE

The Digital Learning Project Officer role is part of the MHV NDIS Workforce Development (Psychosocial Capabilities) team and will contribute expertise in digital technologies and digital learning to the team. In particular, this role will help identify and build creative digital learning solutions which address the workforce development needs of NDIS providers delivering psychosocial supports. It is likely that the digital learning solutions will have a blended learning design including components of online, mobile, and social learning.

About the Project team

The Digital Learning Project Officer will work closely with the other members of the team: the Director-Workforce Development & Learning, the Lead Instructional Designer, and the Research, Project and Learner Support Officer. Although these roles have distinct responsibilities within the team and work, they are interrelated and require a collaborative team approach.

Key Responsibilities Include:

 Scoping, identifying and recommending digital learning options

  •  Scope the range of possible digital learning options for the project, such as e-learning, digital learning, social learning platforms, mobile learning and video learning
  • Provide input and guidance on creative and cost-effective digital learning solutions to meet the needs of the specified workforces and their providers
  • Liaise and negotiate with digital learning providers and other stakeholders

Designing and building Learning Modules and products

  • Participate in the development of an overall Learning Strategy and Mapping document (High level framework and learner navigational tool)
  • Build the digital learning products and resources for the various programs
  • Work closely with the Instructional Designer and other stakeholders to design and develop the digital learning content

Testing and implementing the learning programs

  • Design and implement a strategy for market testing the learning products, in close collaboration with other team members.
  • Review and revise the learning products after testing.
  • Work closely with the team in developing a strategy for implementing the learning program to 400-500 learners.

Teamwork

  • Work collaboratively with other team members, Stakeholder and project management groups, Co-design partners, and the broader Mental Health Victoria team
  • Actively engage in planning and evaluation processes
  • Attendance and participation in Mental Health Victoria staff meetings etc.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential

  • Knowledge of, and/or experience using a wide range of digital learning technologies and platforms
  • Skills in and knowledge of instructional design, digital learning methodologies, and adult learning principles
  • Experience in designing and developing digital learning content
  • Experience working both independently as well as part of a collaborative team
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (Cert IV TAE, adult learning, digital learning)
  • Highly-developed skills in using technology, and proficiency in using Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Outlook, and website building tools such as Wix
  • Ability to creatively problem solve, identify and develop, durable, low-cost solutions, promoting digital learning, within environments, and for audiences, often characterised as ‘low-tech’

Desirable

  • Experience working in non-government organisations sector
  • Knowledge of mental health and recovery, and the mental health sector
  • Knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
  • Strong organisational and written communication skills

Conditions

  • Fixed Term – Part-time Contract – commencing in October 2019 for a 10-month period
  • 3 days / Total 22.5 hours per week – with scope to negotiate days/distribution.
  • Employment Agreement 2015-2018 – Level 6.2, $77,394.45 per annum (38 Hours per week, pro rata 22.5 hours per week) plus 9.5% Superannuation
