About the role

  • First Nations Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander position
  • Remunerated role
  • Professional development opportunities and mentoring

cohealth is Victoria’s leading community health service committed to providing high quality services and experiences with and for our communities. With a firm commitment to eliminating race-based discrimination and gender inequality, we advocate for the social determinants of health in ensuring that housing, homelessness, climate change and poverty are firmly on the agenda.

Would you like to be involved in the strategic direction of cohealth by joining our Board?

You’ll join a Board that is committed to putting our values and strategic priorities into practice, implementing person-centred approaches to health and wellbeing and leading advocacy for health equity in the sector. cohealth seeks to appoint a First Nations Director to ensure that the Board reflects the community that we serve and prioritises marginalised voices.

about you

You are a First Nations person who is a passionate advocate for culture, health and wellbeing, and have an interest in the not-for-profit sector.

You might have worked in a health or community organisation or you may have government experience. Whatever your professional experience, you are interested in contributing to the strategic direction and governance of an organisation that is committed to providing excellent care to a range of communities, in and around Melbourne.

Ideally, you are based in Melbourne and available to attend one Board Meeting per month in addition to joining one of our subcommittees.

Effective communication, integrity and critical thinking are a must, and it goes without saying (but we’ll say it anyway!) that you are strongly aligned with our values – courage, respect, innovation and enquiry, social equity and trust.
