
About the organisation
Animal Welfare League Australia (AWLA) is a registered charity representing the companion animal welfare work of our member organisations across Australia. Our members provide rescue, shelter, rehoming, foster care, health care and enrichment services to more than 50,000 animals every year. Our members are the Animal Welfare League of South Australia, Animal Welfare League of Queensland, Lort Smith in Victoria, Dogs Homes’ of Tasmania and SAFE Inc in Western Australia. Together we have more than 300 years of combined experience in caring for animals in need.
Our missions is to create, uphold and encourage the highest standards of care, health and welfare for pets in our community. We do this by:
- Promoting the human-animal bond and responsible pet ownership through national campaigns, partnerships and initiatives.
- Supporting our members to operate at the highest possible standards.
- Collaborating between our members to identify and communicate best welfare practice.
About the role
The National Administration Officer ensures the efficient and compliant administration of Animal Welfare League Australia (AWLA) and provides the company secretariat duties for AWLA, the Animal Welfare League Foundation and its corporate trustee, AWLA Group Ltd, to support the National Business Development Executive (NBDE) and the Board.
Secretariat and governance experience in the not-for-profit sector is desirable.
This a part-time job (0.2 FTE) and may be conducted from a home office environment.
