About the role
You will successfully oversee and manage projects relating to R U OK?’s engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Responsibilities include building positive relationships with a wide range of communities and stakeholders along with ensuring the ‘Stronger Together’ campaign delivers R U OK?’s health promotion messages in a way that is culturally appropriate, respectful, safe, accessible, relevant and impactful.
This role is Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Identified. Permanent part time role, 3 days per week, based in Sydney CBD.

This role will be given to someone who wants to make a positive difference to suicide prevention efforts, is used to successfully managing a variety of stakeholders and has a minimum 2 years’ experience in one of the following:

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community engagement

Campaign management
-
Health promotion
The responsibilities of this role include:
-
Identifying and building positive relationships with a wide range of communities across the country.

Managing communication and engagement with the R U OK? independent volunteer Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Advisory Group
-
Operationalising the ‘Stronger Together’ campaign plan and ensuring deliverables are provided on time and on budget.

Assisting with planning, managing and executing activities/events associated with the ‘Stronger Together’ campaign and wider engagement plans/projects as required.

Managing relationships with contractors, agencies and suppliers.

Representing R U OK? as a spokesperson on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander engagement.

Representing R U OK? at relevant meetings and forums.

Engage as a positive contributing team member of R U OK?
-
Provide briefings and reporting to CEO and Campaign Director as requested.

Fulfil any other duties as requested from time to time.
Qualifications and experience required:
- Minimum two years’ experience in either:
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community engagement
- Campaign management
- Health promotion

Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and non- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, schools and workplaces.

Experience in managing senior level stakeholders.
