About the organisation
Child & Family Services Ballarat Inc. (Cafs) is a community service organisation that provides a range of programs and services to children, young people and families who are vulnerable or in need of support. Our goal is to give every individual the optimal opportunity to live in a safe and nurturing family.
Cafs has been operating in Ballarat for over 150 years. Originally commencing as the Ballarat Orphanage, Cafs has grown and now spans over 6 sites, employs over 250 employees, engages over 200 volunteers and carers and provides more than 40 programs across..

Program Outline
Cafs is a growing organisation with a large stakeholder base. This is an opportunity to strengthen how Cafs supports communications across the organisation and to shape the brand and messaging of Cafs across the wider community. This includes government and other submission-based funding bodies, philanthropic and business sectors, the community services sector/Cafs partners and the public.
The team is responsible for the organisations marketing, communications and fundraising activities, as well as the:
- Cafs Foundation
- Wozzles Wearhouse and retail/opportunity shops.
Role Overview
With a focus on internal and external communications, this role will deliver effective communication and marketing activities including:
- writing and content creation;
- brand awareness and positioning;
- leading teams in their approach to digital communications;
- community and member engagement.
Incumbent Overview
You’re an effective communicator who enjoys working across a whole range of marketing communications disciplines. You have a solid internal and external communications background with digital communications and marketing expertise. Ideally you’ve also had some exposure with fundraising.
You are creative and passionate with the desire and drive to ensure your team and the organisation succeeds. You understand the not-profit-sector within a regional setting.
