About the organisation
The Victorian Foundation for Survivors of Torture Inc. (VFST) provides a range of services to people in Victoria who have been subject to torture or other traumatic events prior to their arrival in Australia. This group includes refugees and asylum seekers. It is non-denominational, politically neutral and non-aligned.
About the role

This newly created intake Team Leader role is part of the Direct (Client) Services Program which provides services in the form of counselling, advocacy, family support, group work and complementary therapies. The team leader is responsible for the establishment of the centralised intake function, as the first point of contact for client referrals.
We are seeking applicants who have highly developed trauma informed assessment and therapeutic skills with experience in program delivery utilising effective systems and processes. Your ability to support and manage the work of a multidisciplinary team, along with excellent interpersonal skills and collaborative working style is essential in this role. You will be experienced in leading intake and/or triage processes, and developing and implementing policies and procedures in line with our Integrated Trauma Recovery Service Model and the National Standards for Mental Health Services 2010. In particular we seek someone who is excited to lead the planning, development and establishment of this new centralised intake function.
