There is never a dull day in the life of a Senior Couple & Family Counsellor at Relationships Australia New South Wales (RANSW).  In this pivotal role you will be working closely with the team leader and clinicians to ensure the smooth running of the family counselling operation at our Parramatta Centre. You will engage and interact with a hugely diverse client group from young families, couples, singles and all age groups. 

As well as day to day counselling you’ll be given the support and assistance you need to facilitate sessions for families and undertake seminars and training. This role gives you the scope, autonomy and tools to make an unrivalled difference in the lives of the communities RANSW operates.

At RANSW we’re flexible. This is a part time role at 3 days per week, paying as follows: 

$49,069.69 – $50,559.58

We’re also able give a bit more.

In addition to the salary to the base salary, there is the employer’s contribution (9.5%) to superannuation, leave loading (17.5%) and we offer salary packaging (a tax free exemption as a not for profit!)

Your eventual salary will be negotiated with you what you can show us in experience, training, qualifications and attitude.

About the team
You will be working within a number of highly skilled talented counsellors, caseworkers and team leaders, and if you’re up for a challenge there will be plenty of scope for you to step up when you feel ready! Oh and your manager is one of the most pragmatic in the business so if you’ve some new and bright ideas, she will be more than happy to put them to test!

We’re interested in hearing from people who possess a combination of the below

• This is a demanding role and so experience is a key, you should be aiming for 5+ years as a counsellor and a certificate in training is really useful too, not essential
• Previous experience working with families is hugely important and the art of dealing with young people and children especially dealing with families affected by domestic abuse
• Resilience is a really big part of this position, for you to play a large role in the lives of so many people and colleagues alike
• You’ll need to be able to work after hours on occasions, the nature of the role is that people’s problems don’t always sit well within a 9-5 office week
• Teamwork is to work collaboratively with the team and in this role there will be plenty, you will also need to work autonomously and so you need to be comfortable in both environments
