About Basketball NSW
BNSW is the governing body of basketball in NSW. The primary mission of Basketball NSW is to foster and develop the sport of basketball in NSW. We focus on providing support to local/regional basketball associations.
Basketball in Australia is competitive at the highest levels of competition around the world, in mens, womens, and juniors. NSW teams do the same as the national level. Resurgence of our sport, in participant numbers alone, brings greater demands on, and the professionalism of, administrators. Whilst our core competencies match the best in administration, we remain vigilant to attracting quality people with specialist skills, notably in the fields of governance, financial, legal, and marketing.
About the role
Basketball NSW, a not-for-profit incorporated entity, is seeking a volunteer Company Secretary to assist with the smooth functioning of our statutory responsibilities. Initially, the position will be for a 2-3 year term but may be longer if the parties agree.
This is a volunteer position, albeit that a small honorarium may be made.
The commitment will include attending 5-6 Board meetings each year. Board meetings are held on a Wednesday evening from 6pm to 9pm at our State office in Homebush.
