About the role
TELL ME ABOUT THE ROLE
headspace Connect is a pilot service operating as part of the wider eheadspace multi-disciplinary mental health model. Combining online and telephony, eheadspace Connect clinicians provide therapeutic mental health support to young people, who are referred to us by a local headspace centre.
The therapeutic intervention to young people is delivered via teleweb utilising a collaborative care plan approach alongside a use of digital interactive resources. Clinicians will work within the headspace Connect clinical service model to provide collaborative, person centred therapeutic support to young people experiencing mental distress.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
headspace Connect Clinicians form part of a multi–disciplinary team and as such, we are looking for applicants who have completed their tertiary qualifications in an Allied Health discipline – either Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing or Psychology (OTs, Mental Health Nurses and Psychologists need to be fully registered with AHPRA).
Critical for success will be your advanced knowledge of youth mental health practice and principles including a thorough understanding of complex factors contributing to mental distress in young people. You will be well versed in understanding and applying relevant legislation and policies to support vulnerable young people at risk of serious harm and have developed advanced skills in the assessment and treatment of mental health and related issues with young people using a range of interventions and best practice principles.
With a thorough commitment to participating in activities to support ongoing research and evaluation of the service, you will work as part of an energetic and supportive team to maintain a responsive and respectful workplace culture
