The NTEU is a federally registered union with coverage of academic and general staff in higher education. The NTEU (NSW) is responsible for workers in all NSW universities and their associated student organisations, research institutes and companies.
About the role
The National Tertiary Education Union (NTEU) NSW Division is seeking a highly motivated, member focused individual with experience in organising, recruitment and campaigning, either in a trade union or in social justice organisations. The successful applicant will be committed to building the trade union movement. The Organiser position is part-time (at 0.9) and will be available immediately.
The successful candidate will initially be based at the NSW Division office in Surry Hills. You will be assigned a mix of duties, including, as part of a team, taking responsibility for the completion of organising, campaigning, and administrative tasks or projects at the Branch level and state-wide. You may be allocated to other NTEU branches in NSW from time to time.
It will be filled at NTEU Level 5/6 ($83,623 – $103,497 FTE), plus 17% employer superannuation contributions.
