assets, NSW Trustee & Guardian (NSWTG) is a statutory agency within the Stronger
Communities (formerly Justice) Cluster. The agency supports the Chief Executive Officer of the
NSWTG and the Public Guardian (PG), to protect and promote the rights, dignity, choices and
wishes of the people of New South Wales. We do this by providing independent and impartial
financial management, guardianship and trustee services that support our customers and help
them manage their health, lifestyle and financial affairs and ensure their wishes are respected.

community, and support people at vulnerable moments in their life.

This recruitment campaign will create a talent pool to fill future ongoing and temporary full-time
and part-time vacancies if and when they arise in accordance with the Government Sector
Employment Act 2013.

About the role
An opportunity to be working collaboratively as part of our NSWTG Branch Network team to
provide services to meet our clients’ needs and assist senior staff undertake business
development as well as community education and stakeholder engagement activities.
As a Branch Officer you will be involved in interviewing clients, taking instructions for and
advising clients in relation to the preparation and execution of less complex Wills, (including
testamentary trusts), Powers of Attorney, Enduring Guardianship appointments and inter vivos
trusts.
A will is a legal document and will drafting is highly technical, requiring a high degree of
professional skill and care. The duty of the will drafter is to ensure the client’s wishes for their estate are accurately set out in the Will and before drafting the Will the drafter has an obligation
to use their skills and knowledge to advise the client as to the effect of their wishes.
You will be proactively liaising and communicating with clients to ensure consistent and timely
services in line with NSWTG’s customer experience statement.
The role will also facilitate Financial Management, Power of Attorney, Estate and Trust client
communication with the service centre teams.
Essential Requirements
- Understanding of NSW government and NSWTG’s key services and client base.
- Extensive travel is required.
- All roles in NSWTG require a willingness to have phone calls monitored for quality and
training purposes
About you
A law degree with study in succession law would be an advantage or experience and/or the
ability to obtain accreditation in drafting Wills, Powers of Attorney and Enduring Guardianship
Appointments. Knowledge of relevant legislation or ability to acquire is essential and also a
desire to keep up to date with the latest succession law cases.
Candidates must be prepared to undertake continuous training in the preparation of Wills,
Powers of Attorney and Enduring Guardianship documents. They will have a strong customer
experience focus and be passionate about delivering a high standard of service to our clients
every time. This person will have high attention to detail, demonstrated ability in handling
various matters in a professional manner and good written and verbal communication. They will
be able to build a strong relationship with clients and colleagues alike and contribute to NSW
Trustee & Guardian’s business plans, procedures and processes to achieve operational targets.
In addition to meeting the Essential Requirements, the successful candidate has excellent
communication skills and works well in a team. You will have demonstrable experience in the
following:
- Deliver high quality, consistent and timely services consistent with NSWTG’s customer
experience statement and take responsibility for higher complexity transactions within the
branch. - Draft, prepare and execute pre-planning instruments to a high standard.
- Contribute to NSWTGs business plans, procedures and processes to achieve
operational targets and service standards and continuously improve the delivery of
branch services - Undertake business development, community education and stakeholder engagement
activities. - Deliver strong customer experience, integrated service delivery, including ensuring that
Branch Services maintains a focus on face-to-face service delivery and outreach. - Willingness to travel as required (including overnight travel).
