The Organisation
Our client is an internationally recognised medical research institute (MRI) undertaking cardiovascular research with a mission to prevent death and suffering from cardiovascular diseases affecting the heart and blood vessels. Their research focuses across a broad range of areas of cardiovascular diseases including coronary artery disease, stroke, heart failure, and congenital heart disease.
The MRI has a well-established international CRM driven regular and individual giving program and is now looking to enhance its philanthropic footprint.
The Role
Following a board-endorsed, and aspirational funding plan, you will lead a revitalised development plan for the future with a focus on major gifts from high net worth individuals, trusts, foundations, bequests, sponsorships and community partnerships.
You will be pivotal in enhancing the team’s gift-seeking culture, ensuring a ‘no daylight’ approach between the MRI’s science and its funding needs.
Additionally, you will also ensure the existing fundraising programs, continue to be optimised.
Skills Required
You are a self-driven fundraising professional, having personally developed major donor relationships to deliver significant revenue. You understand current fundraising trends, techniques and challenges, and bring highly developed communication, influencing, relationship building skills and excellent emotional intelligence.
In addition, you can also demonstrate:
- an inspirational and collaborative leadership style
- the development, implementation, and evaluation of a range of fundraising programs
- interpersonal skills including the ability to influence, build and maintain relationships
- knowledge of and links with high net worth individuals, families, and philanthropists
- data analysis skills with the ability to research, profile, and qualify major gifts prospects
