About the role

We are looking for an International Programs Officer to play an integral role in supporting the International Programs department in implementing its overseas development program.

You will have project management skills to undertake monitoring activities, including conduct monitoring and evaluation visits, tracking the progress of projects against established outcomes and develop sound relationships with partners.

Your attention to detail will ensure that all project activities comply with the ACFID Code of Conduct, Partnership Agreements and DFAT requirements.

You will also play a role in promoting TLMA in Australia in the Christian and wider community. 

Job Requirements

Key Selection Criteria
  • An understanding of, and commitment to, the Christian beliefs, vision, mission and values of TLMA
  • An understanding of Christian mission in Supporting and Implementing Countries
  • A graduate degree, preferably in Health, Development or International Relations
  • Proven project management skills with experience in monitoring and evaluation
  • Ability to connect with and build relationships with overseas partners
  • Sensitivity to cross cultural issues of community development and ability to communicate with, and encourage Implementing country staff as necessary
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with an ability to summarise information as required
  • Good organisational abilities with proven administrative skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with proven report writing skills
  • Good networking skills and an ability to speak in public and present the work of TLMA in the Christian and wider community
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to teamwork with staff, volunteers, Board and other stakeholders
Desirable Selection Criteria
  • Experience in working as a cross cultural worker in community development and emergency relief program or other comparable experience
  • Experience working with DFAT or other major grant bodies
  • Understanding of compliance expectations for Australian NGOs operating internationally (e.g. DFAT, ACFID, ACNC, etc).
