About You
You’re an experienced manager of people and projects. More than anything, you love implementing systems and processes that help create order and efficiency. You’re comfortable using a CRM and project management software and you love putting together a good spreadsheet. More than anything, you love the idea of enabling a small, dynamic team to thrive. And, you’re absolutely passionate about helping changemakers amplify their social impact.

Required Skills and Experience
The successful candidate shall:
have at least 3 years’ experience in an operational or project management role;
have a commercial mindset and strong analytical skills;
have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
have excellent attention to detail;
be able to work to tight timelines and work efficiently;
have capability to develop other team members;
have capability to build systems and processes;
have experience in and enjoy the culture of working in a small business environment; and
have strong project management skills.
General knowledge of, or experience in, at least one of the areas of focus of work of the Social Impact Hub is preferred (ie. impact investing, social enterprise development, impact measurement, philanthropy, corporate social responsibility etc). A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in a relevant skill area.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
The role of the Operations Manager is to ensure operational excellence through managing all corporate functions including finance, human resources, risk management including work health and safety, quality, compliance, IT/business systems and premises.
Key Responsibilities may include:
Operational & stakeholder management
Oversee the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of the organisation
Foster effective team work between all members of the team
Ensure that the organisation meets the need of external stakeholders (clients, students, sponsors) including contract management
Work with the CEO to support the ongoing sustainability of the organisation
Oversee the management of the office premises, legal compliance, IT and business systems
Process improvement and reporting
Lead process development and improvement, especially in relation to implementing our new CRM system (Zoho) and fully utilising its capabilities
Liaising with external integration support and training the team on the CRM
Design and deliver monthly reports tracking organisational progress
Human resources management
Work with CEO to determine staff requirements for organisational management
Oversee and monitor development of job descriptions and key performance indicators for staff; implement the performance management process including ongoing feedback
When necessary, recruit, interview and select staff that have the right technical and personal abilities to help further the organisation’s mission and fit into the organisational culture
Ensure that all staff are able to grow both personally and professionally by identifying opportunities and supporting staff to pursue opportunities
Financial management
Prepare and manage the budget for the organisation and allocate resources accordingly
Oversee the bookkeeper and the management of all payments, BAS and taxes
Manage insurances
Program management and development
Oversee planning, implementation and execution of projects and other new strategic initiatives, including management of aspects of some programs
Oversee the development of new programs and opportunities in collaboration with relevant team members
Support proposal and tender development and other business development opportunities
There is flexibility with the list of responsibilities above; they could be altered depending on the successful applicant’s particular strengths and passions.
Reporting & Remuneration
The Operations Manager will report to the CEO. Work plans and KPIs will be agreed on a quarterly basis in line with overall strategic planning. Appropriate remuneration in line with experience and possibly incentives to be negotiated.
We support flexible work arrangements and applicants who would like to work 3-4 days per week are encouraged. Ideally you will have flexibility to increase this to full time in peak periods. The role is based at the Social Impact Hub in Edgecliff, with likely 1 day per week working from home (COVID dependent).
