At the Luke Priddis Foundation (LPF) Centre for Autism, we believe in providing and promoting awareness, understanding and support for people and their families with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or additional needs. We aim to deliver a range of complimentary health, welfare, therapeutic and educational services within a safe and respecting environment. The LPF Centre for Autism paves the way to lifelong individualised therapies and support delivered with compassion and purpose.
Due to the significant growth of our practice, we are seeking a General registered / or Clinical Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team (which includes Behaviour Therapy, Speech and Occupational Therapy) on a fulltime or part time basis.
About the role:
The role of the Psychologist is to provide individual psychological therapy to children, adolescents and their families to assist them reach their potential, employing a range of therapeutic modalities and techniques. The Psychologist will be responsible for:
- Developing targeted plans and delivering intervention, both face to face and via Telehealth.
- Working as part of a transdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional programs to children, adolescents, parents / carers, and the broader community.
- Educating and support parents, carers, families and teachers in how to encourage skill building and guide development in order for each individual to reach their full potential.
- Developing, implementing and monitoring Positive Behaviour Support Plans, and maintaining thorough and accurate case notes, letters and reports as required
- Assisting community members and other professionals to understand and promote strengths of individuals on the spectrum.
To be successful in this position, you will:
- have a relevant degree in Psychology, supported by relevant work experience in the field and current psychology registration with AHPRA (or for new graduates, eligibility for registration within the next 3 months we will accept applications from new graduates with relevant life/professional experience)
- have, or be willing to obtain, a Medicare Provider Number
- have demonstrated experience or a strong interest in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of a variety of mental health and developmental disorders, including autism spectrum disorder and its common comorbidities
- be highly motivated and passionate about supporting children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- have an understanding of a variety of therapeutic approaches for mental health and developmental disorders, and experience in formulating, delivering and evaluating behaviour intervention plans.
- have experience in completing functional behaviour assessments
- be able to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- have outstanding written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and problem solving skills
- have the ability to manage a busy caseload, prioritise work, and remain calm and collected under stressful situations.
- possess a current NDIS Worker Check, along with a current NSW Working with Children check and police clearance for paid employment
- have a current valid NSW driver’s licence and use of own vehicle
- Trained in ADOS and ADIR diagnosis tools an advantage
