Reporting to the Manager, Family and Children’s Services, the Department works in genuine collaboration and partnership with families, each other and non-Council organisations to achieve the best possible outcomes for and with children and approximately 4500 families in the Knox community. The Team works with a clear focus on integrated and collaborative service delivery from and across every service setting, delivers early years services across over 40 purpose built facilities every week.
The Head of Integrated Services reports directly to the Manager, Family and Children’s Services and is responsible for the provision of leadership and operational management of the following Group:
- Integrated Child Family Health and Wellbeing
- Integrated Early Years Hubs
- Integrated Early Years Operations
The role currently oversees 3 direct reports and a total team consisting of 150 staff. This role will also once again assume oversight and leadership of the Integrated Kindergarten team towards the end of 2020, adding a further 150 staff to the Group. The role works in collaboration with the Head of Strategy Learning and Evaluation and the Manager to ensure that programs across the Department operate in a high quality way that is effective and efficient and that services are compliant with relevant legislation, funding and service agreements, policies, budgets and available resources.
Key deliverables will include:
- Oversee the delivery of high quality, responsive, sustainable, evidence-based, child and family focused early years services provided by Council to the Knox community.
- Develop and continuously strengthen, an integrated approach to working together with the Head of Strategy, Learning and Evaluation that includes matrix management where appropriate and focuses on One Team in relation to team culture, systems improvement and evidence-based professional practice and development
- Work to build capacity of staff across all operational settings in accordance with the appropriate legislative requirements, professional standards, National Quality Frameworks and funding and service agreements
- Develop, strengthen and measure engagement with families and community to increase responsiveness and participation in early years services delivered by Council
