A career with Lutheran Community Care offers exciting rewards and challenges to those who want to make a difference to communities and people in need.

In recognition of the important contribution our people make to our operational decision making processes, we are committed to consultation and communication with staff at all levels.
About the role
- Make life better for children with an iconic organisation that celebrates your successes
- Embrace our continuous focus on learning, development and upskilling plus plenty of support
- Enjoy salary packaging options and generous leave in addition to your competitive take-home pay
Advocate. Mentor. Advisor. Liaison. Case Management is a delicate balancing act – and you?
You do it with aplomb.
You value friendship, compassion, humour, hard work, justice and hope. But most of all, you’re driven by one mission: to create a world where all children live happily in a safe and caring environment. Everything you do feeds into that one goal.
Which is why we’ll get along great
We have an outstanding opportunity for a Foster Care Case Worker (Assessment and Training) to join a well-respected and longstanding not-for-profit faith-based organisation, whose focus it is to empower our team with high level support to ensure we deliver positive outcomes for our foster carers and children in care.
In joining our team, you are responsible for providing assessment, training, support and advocacy for foster carers to achieve highly successful placements and maximise the well-being of children in care. While the position is office based, travel for regular home visits with foster carers and to other locations for intra and interagency meetings is required.
You will thrive in this next chapter of your career as you:
- Manage a case load of carer households (1:18 generalist 1:7 specialist)
- Provide case work through assessment, training, support, placement and advocacy
- Monitor and maintain compliance of mandatory checks, reviews, learning and development
- Assist the placement co-ordinators with the process of matching and placement of children with approved foster carers as required
- Work collaboratively with families and members of the care team to ensure access to appropriate
information, training and services for children in care.
Could you be the perfect addition to this high-performing team?
If so, you will have extensive knowledge and at least 2yrs experience in Foster Care Case Management and your intimate knowledge of the effects of trauma and abuse, attachment issues and behaviour management will serve you well in this role. You will also be tertiary-qualified and comfortable
in working independently to ensure we’re continuously driving positive outcomes. You also have an open Driver’s license (but don’t worry, you’ll have a kilometre allowance to take care of any travel expenditure). If you’ve got a First Aid certificate or a current Working With Children Check, we’d love to hear about those, too.
In exchange for your hard work, though, the rewards will be great. That competitive salary will be yours, along with enviable options for salary packaging. But that’s not what you’re here for. At the end of the day, your greatest reward will be the knowledge that you’ve served on the front lines
