The Academy also works with Fellows to execute a strong program of in-person, virtual and hybrid events across the nation and throughout the calendar year, to educate and inform diverse audiences about issues and new approaches in applied science, technology and engineering.
About the role
ATSE is seeking a dynamic individual with demonstrated events administration experience for a new position working with staff and Fellows across the Academy and reporting to the Events Manager, as part of the Academy’s Engagement team.
The Events Administrator is a hands-on role and provides detailed support to the Events Manager, within the Engagement team. The role will require strong coordination, impeccable attention to detail and time management skills to aid in the successful delivery of all event requirements. This role will be considered in Canberra or Melbourne.
KEY RESULTS AREAS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Events Administrator is responsible for:
- Provide general administration and logistical support to the Events Manager, including booking and facilitating meetings, minute taking, feedback collation and circulation
- Assisting ATSE’s State and Territory Divisions to execute divisional events (both in-person and online)
- Building and administration of event registration and ticketing pages
- Liaise with event suppliers (audio visual, venues, catering, etc)
- Creating and distributing reports pre- and post-events
- Responding to event related enquiries
- Working collaboratively across all teams to deliver ATSE events
Key Selection Criteria
Essential Skills
- Strong administration experience with highly developed organisational skills and attention to detail
- Minimum one to two years’ experience in event administration and/or coordination
- Able to plan, manage and organise multiple tasks effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient skills in office management software

Other Job Related Information
- Occasional out of office hours work may be required
- Occasional Interstate travel is required
- ATSE’s offices are in Canberra and Melbourne. This position can be based in Canberra or Melbourne and will work with the Events Manager who is based out of the Canberra office.
