The Role
In addition to the key governance areas of fiduciary responsibilities, community accountability and movement development, this voluntary position will provide guidance across children’s safety, compliance, accreditation, and development of an early years strategy.
Providing oversight of safeguarding standards for the Y and conveying knowledge of engaging with authorities and entities, professional standards and safeguarding bodies in Australia and internationally.
Skills Required
You will be an experienced thought leader within early years education ideally with board, governance or committee experience, who has been integral in improving the quality of early childhood education.
You have expertise in advocacy, children’s education and care sector business operations and ideally safeguarding. Via your already successful career leading like-minded institutions, you’re able to demonstrate a deep understanding of Ys organisational culture. You have a passion for developing young people and you share the Y’s vision to empower them through education.
Term: Three-year term, option of standing for re-election (maximum nine-year tenure)
Your commitment: Monthly meetings, weekly currently, 8-12 hours per month.
