About the Role

To monitor and administer the day to day delivery of quality Humanitarian Settlement Program (HSP) services to HSP clients in coordination with other relevant stakeholders, and lead and support the Case Managers and other staff assigned to the team in delivering HSP services. HSP Clients will be classified into a Tier according to their level of need and the complexity of their circumstances.

Majority of clients are expected to be classified under Tier 1 and Tier 2 and will receive the standard HSP services. Client displaying an inability to independently engage with appropriate supports and who might be impacted by multiple and complex barriers may be classified under Tier 3 following written approval from DHA.

 

About You

  • Provide leadership and specialist support to Case Management Team with regards to needs assessment, case planning and delivery of relevant HSP services to the clients
  • Support case manager to develop strategies to overcome these obstacles, where possible
  • Ensure the needs assessment conducted by the case manager adequately and accurately captures the complexity, nature and individual goals
  • Ensure the strength-based approach is utilised in developing a case management plan (CMP) and that the CMP addresses each of the identified needs with a focus on realistic, specific, measurable and achievable outcomes for the client.
  • Demonstrate leadership and provide guidance to the Team during client crises, including problem solving skills, high-level client intervention skills, advocacy skills and knowledge of service sector
  • Contribute to the development, review and implementation of HSP Policies, Procedures and processes with a focus on immediate deliverables, foundation settlement services and case management service provisions
  • Ensure Team is meeting all contractual requirements as per SSI’s HSP contract with HSP, including reporting and invoicing processes as and when required
  • Ensure team members comply with data collection, privacy and confidentiality requirements as per the HSP provision and SSI policies.

 

Essential Criteria

  • Diploma in community Services (Case Management), Bachelor of Applied Science (Community Services) or an equivalent alternate qualification
  • Ability to work under pressure – Maintaining stable performance under pressure and/or opposition (such as time pressure or job ambiguity)
  • Time management skills (being able to coordinate daily, weekly and monthly activities)
  • Ability to manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Knowledge and understanding of refugee settlement process
  • High level of written and verbal English skills
  • Current NSW drivers license preferred

 

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Current driver’s license
  • Experience liaising and coordinating with SIS in delivering Humanitarian Settlement Service
  • Demonstrated Leadership experience
