
About the organisation
The Australian Evaluation Society (AES) is a professional organisation for people involved in evaluation including evaluation practitioners, managers, teachers and students of evaluation, and other interested individuals. It has over 1,000 members. The AES is governed by an elected Board of Directors which delegates management to a Chief Executive Officer.
AES exists to strengthen and promote evaluation practice, theory and use across the region. The AES offers ethics and standards in evaluation practice, professional learning and networking through an annual international conference, regular seminars and a peer reviewed journal, and the promotion of the evaluation professional through strategic engagement.
About the role
Following a well-received pilot in 2021, the AES Pathways Committee is set to launch the AES Group Mentoring Program 2022. The mentoring program is a response to the high level of demand for mentorship from members recorded in the membership survey for the 2019–22 strategic planning process. The successful candidate will support the Pathways Committee in the implementation of the AES Mentoring Program 2022 by undertaking general logistical and administrative tasks assigned by the mentoring working group.
The Project Officer’s purpose is to support the Pathways Committee in the implementation of the AES Mentoring Program 2022 by undertaking general logistical and administrative tasks assigned by the mentoring working group. Key tasks include,
- Conducting membership liaison and communication including for the mentee nomination and selection process.
- Acting as the first point of contact for mentors and coordinating the development and sharing of a mentor resource pack.
- Setting up key online meetings such as:
- Monthly mentors meetings (Mentors and associate mentors).
- Initial orientation session for mentees and mentors (April/ May).
- Final closing session for mentees and mentors (Nov).
- Coordinating Pulse survey with mentees 2 or 3 times during the course of the program.
- Supporting the evaluation of the program through survey set up, coordination of focus groups and interviews and statistical analysis of survey results
- Attend working group meetings
