Cancer Council SA is the state’s leading cancer charity working across every aspect of every cancer. Every day, Cancer Council SA supports families affected by cancer when they need it most, speaks out on behalf of the community on cancer issues, empowers people to reduce their cancer risk, and finds new ways to better detect and treat cancer. Following an organisation redesign, Cancer Council SA are seeking four dynamic, collaborative and contemporary leaders with a commercial mindset and community heart to join their Executive and strategically support the organisations new, exciting, bold journey of contemporary change to deliver even greater outcomes for every South Australian impacted by a cancer diagnosis.
This is not your typical Communications leadership role. Reporting to the Chief Executive, the General Manager Strategy, Engagement and Communication will utilise their strategic leadership and innovative future focused approach to drive Cancer Council SA’s position as the leading cancer charity in the state through strategy development, advocacy, brand positioning, fundraising and stakeholder relationships and partnerships.
This is your opportunity to draw upon your entrepreneurial thinking to develop and deliver the corporate strategy; enhance internal and external communications; guide the organisation’s approach to engaging with key stakeholders; drive changes in policies, legislation and regulations strategically aligned to cancer prevention and education programs and identify innovative ways to attract donor funding through external relationships, partnerships and events.
To be considered for this exciting and impactful opportunity, we are seeking applications from contemporary, future focused leaders who are commercially astute, demonstrate a customer first attitude and strong values aligned to Cancer Council SA. With demonstrable experience leading organisation strategy, policy, advocacy and engagement, you have a strong focus on enhancing customer experience for the end user. You bring highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly form credible and respectful relationships, both with your internal and external stakeholder groups. You are known for your ability to lead and empower multi-disciplinary staff (direct reports and organisationally), fostering a positive, motivated and high performing workplace culture.
