About the role
This is an exciting, role in our executive leadership team, joining us at the start of a new strategy cycle and as we transition into a new era of service delivery and business transformation. You will collaborate and work closely with our Executive Leadership Team, Group Managers, your own ICT and PMO teams and the wider business to lead business performance through the adoption of digital technologies across the organisation.
The Chief Digital Officer (CDO/CIO) will review and continue the delivery of our digital strategy to achieve efficient and effective digital solutions that exist to connect people, provide reassurance and improve outcomes for people. Your direct reports will include, Applications Manager, Business Intelligence Manager, Technology Services Manager and the PMO Manager.
In this role, you will face an exciting myriad of challenges, opportunities and results. You will:
- Review and deliver the digital strategy aligned to service and business improvements, including the replacement of legacy technologies and systems
- Manage and improve the current infrastructure plan to ensure a secure, stable ICT enabling environment
- Ensure individuals/teams are aligned to the business plans and goals with clear performance expectations/accountabilities
- Manage the ICT and projects budget and strategically review tech debt, investment and ROI
- Increase digital competency across the business and ensure the value proposition for technology changes affecting staff and clients is clear
- Reduce cybersecurity risks and threats across all areas of the business
- Bring your ideas, visions and initiatives to the table and be willing to challenge and be challenged for the best interests of our clients and our community
- Collaborate with all stakeholders and make decisions which are done with consultation and buy in
About You
You will be thrive in a fast paced and challenging role, ready to deliver and achieve results. You will come from a technical background, having worked your way up through diverse experiences and broad exposure to areas such as network architecture, business intelligence, applications management, projects, IT support and/or consulting. Specifically, you will bring:
- Experience in leveraging best practices, industry standards, methodologies and frameworks to define the digital transformation vision and strategy
- Extensive experience across ICT strategic planning, service design and delivery, project management, and business re-engineering/transformation
- Demonstrated ability to deliver innovative digital solutions and enabling technologies in a complex organisation
- Leadership in transformation strategy and architecture skills – benchmarking assessment, target state definition and roadmaps, long range planning, business architecture blueprints, capability maturity measurement and project scoping
- People leadership skills including driving change, developing culture and employee engagement
- Excellent business communication and presentation skills, interpersonal and partnership skills

Formal requirements
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science and equivalent and significant practical experience in a leadership role within the field
- Post graduate qualification in management/MBA would be well regarded.
- Current Police Check or willingness to obtain
- Current COVID vaccination certificate (or valid exemption)
