About Us The External Relations, Development and Alumni portfolio (ERDA) works collaboratively across the University to initiate, grow and steward strong person to person relationships with key stakeholders that support Monash University’s research and education endeavours. This work delivers outcomes that significantly enhance the University’s profile and resources.
The University’s first ever-institutional philanthropy campaign ‘Change it. For Good.’ underpins our ambitious advancement and fundraising goals. The campaign is one of the largest, most ambitious and impactful campaigns in Higher Education fundraising globally and already exceeding $700m.
The Opportunity We have an exciting opportunity for a Development Associate to play a pivotal role in supporting Monash University’s broader strategic fundraising goals. Supporting the University fundraising team, your duties will include but not be limited to:
- Building and managing networks with donors to solicit contributions for the University initiatives
- Engaging with internal stakeholders across relevant faculties to collaborate effectively on mutually beneficial donor cultivation strategies
- Supporting internal staff including frontline fundraisers in their day to day activities
- Supporting the design, development and delivery of a variety of projects
- Conducting research and surveys to obtain factual information to support stewardship reports as well as donor stories and profiles
- Supporting a range of fund raising initiatives within the HASS and STEM faculties

About YOU!
Previous fundraising experience in the higher education sector is desirable however, to be successfully considered for this role, you will have outstanding interpersonal skills and an ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at varying levels. High levels of attention to detail will be a core strength of yours in preparing detailed reports and documentation for senior stakeholders. You will enjoy conducting detailed research to support donor strategies as well as reports and proposals for senior managers. Your rapport building skills will see you develop strong networks with key clients within faculties as well as the wider University.

This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated. We offer a hybrid working arrangement that enables you to work from home, for a portion of your work week.
