About the role

The Board of Girl Guides NSW ACT & NT seeks a dynamic CEO to support the transformation required to build a sustainable organisation to deliver Guiding and positively impact girls and young women for the next 100 years.

The Board of Girl Guides NSW ACT & NT has set an ambitious Strategic Plan for 2021-2026. This is an exciting opportunity to join a renowned organisation at a critical time, providing the strategic and visionary leadership required to deliver upon Girl Guides NSW ACT & NT strategic goals.

Reporting to the Board of Girl Guides NSW ACT & NT, the CEO will work within a collaborative and supportive leadership model to drive high-quality program delivery and contribute toward a positive workplace culture and sustainable organisation.

 

Key Strategic Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of Girl Guides NSW ACT & NT five-year strategic plan, driving organisational change through a number of key strategic projects including the integration of new technologies and championing change management initiatives to power an enhanced volunteer experience
  • Driving membership growth by engaging with current and prospective members, facilitating and supporting volunteer-led delivery of high-quality, leading-edge girl programs and developing and delivering member benefits and experiences
  • Building on the recognised brand and reputation of Girl Guides NSW ACT & NT through excellent stakeholder relationships and partnerships across a variety of sectors
  • Oversight of internal operations and day-to-day business functions (finance, IT, property, HR, marketing, communications, customer experience, volunteer support)
  • Contributing to the long-term sustainability of a globally renowned organisation.

 

Required Skills & Experience:

  • A strong commitment to the well-being, rights and leadership of girls and young women
  • Demonstrated success in a senior leadership role of an NFP or commercial organisation – if only commercial experience, then an understanding of the NFP space is essential
  • Demonstrated success in the design and implementation of strategy, including organisational change initiatives
  • Strong financial, property and asset management capability
  • Strong understanding of not-for-profit governance, preferably in a federated or similar organisational model
  • Philanthropy experience; including marketing, advocacy, partnerships and fundraising
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, management or equivalent
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, strong verbal and written communication skills
