Banyule Community Health is looking to recruit a highly motivated and experienced Harm Reduction Clinician to our BCH community.
This is a great opportunity to work in a professional and supportive team-based environment alongside other experienced and passionate staff in the Wellbeing and Support Program.
The position is 22.5 hours per week, with the potential of additional hours for a suitably experienced applicant. You will work from both our West Heidelberg and Greensborough sites.
Your motivation, interpersonal skills, and harm reduction knowledge will see you excel in this role as you:
- Provide harm reduction and overdose prevention advice, undertake client assessments, provision of information and training (including for families and signifcant others), counselling, brief intervention and care and recovery work for those with more complex needs
- Work in a highly collaborative manner with Uniting ReGen who are leading this initiative
- Strengthen established partnerships with AOD treatment, harm reduction and Needle & Syringe Programs and provision of Naloxone training
- Manage the ordering, organising and delivery of the Needle & Syringe program at Banyule Community Health
- Contribute to the monitoring, evaluation and reporting on the overall performance of the Harm Reduction and Overdose response program
- Work with your team and other BCH staff to develop and deliver innovative, flexible, and responsive services to meet the needs of the community
What you will need:
- Proven ability to work with a range of people and organisations in a non-judgemental and respectful manner
- Sound knowledge of the AOD sector, dual diagnosis, harm reduction and overdose prevention initiatives
- Excellent organisational, time management and administrative skills
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to a culture within a team that is productive, professional, collaborative, and flexible
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of assessment and treatment services
- Demonstrated solid understanding of community-based interventions for reducing AOD related harm, overdose prevention and harm reduction strategies
- A tertiary qualification in social work, psychology or other relevant allied health discipline, or considerable experience and training in the AOD sector
- Cert IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs, or at minimum have completed the 4 core competencies
