About the organisation
PCD Australia Foundation was formed in 2013 and is a registered charity which is run by a committee of volunteers. PCD Australia is also supported by several Respiratory doctors across Australia.
PCD Australia promotes awareness within medical professions and the community highlighting the effect of PCD on individuals and families.
MISSION
To facilitate and promote the provision of optimal care for persons affected by Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia (PCD) and to ensure the best possible quality of life for them.
To provide information, services and activities for the welfare of those affected by PCD and their families.
WHAT WE DO
PCD Australia
- organises fund raising activities and administers the proceeds for the benefit of those with PCD
- represent and advocate the interests of those affected by PCD and
- initiates and encourages research and study pertinent to the diagnosis, treatment management and amelioration of PCD.
About the role
PCD Australia is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified people to support the work of the Board. Potential Board Directors must possess skills related to the following seven areas. Successful candidates will need to demonstrate expertise in at least four areas.
- Communications, marketing and social media
- Fundraising
- Corporate and industry partnerships
- Governance and Policy development
- Finance, Audit and Risk
- Company secretarial
- Strategic Planning
