ABOUT THE JOB
Our Client Advisers are the key link between our clients and innovative DEC housing solutions. In this job, you will:
- Provide quality and informed advice and options to assist people and their families to identify suitable, safe, dignified and sustainable DEC Housing options.
- Facilitate the housing journey, including the specification, contracting, and financial options for people and their families including liaison with stakeholders and partners.
- Deliver a high quality of service to our clients in line with DECH standards and the National Disability Quality Standards.
- Understand and sensitively exercise boundaries relating to the advice you are providing and ensure appropriate referrals when the advice is specialized eg: financial, legal etc.
- Promote a clear vision of quality in services and supports, reviewing and monitoring quality and leading innovation and continuous improvement.
- Provide reports internally and externally as required.
- Be willing to travel to metropolitan and regional areas as clients are in different locations across the state.
ABOUT YOU
Above all, you will need to be passionate and committed with the right attitude and approach to working with our clients with disability in this unique space, you will also have:
- Demonstrated experience, skills and ability to assist people with disabilities to achieve their aspirations and goals – ideally in a role such as a support co-ordinator.
- Demonstrated understanding of the current disability sector, ideally in relation to the accommodation options currently in place for people with disabilities and the options and changing landscape of accommodation for people with disabilities.
- Understanding and working knowledge of the National Disability Insurance scheme, particularly the Specialist Disability Allowance component.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including experience facilitating discussions with people of different abilities.
- Highly developed negotiation and relationship management skills, with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Ability to understand and explain financial processes and guidelines related to individual funding and budgets.
- Demonstrated proficiency in a range of IT applications
- Sound organisational skills with the ability to work independently, meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
