About the organisation
Refuge Victoria is a not-for-profit Specialist Family Violence organisation that provides refuge accommodation to women and children escaping family violence. We have been responding to family violence for over 40 years. Refuge Victoria is the largest provider of refuge accommodation in Victoria with three core and cluster refuges, 15 refuge properties and nominating rights to approx. 35 Transitional Houses. Refuge Victoria supports women and children experiencing homelessness from family violence, providing refuge and crisis accommodation, risk assessment and case management support and outreach case management support to clients in transitional properties and/or private rental.

A unique opportunity exists for an experienced Finance and Corporate Services Manger to join our values driven family violence charity. You will play a key role in designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the corporate services functions for the organisation. We’re looking for an experienced leader, a Chartered Accountant or CPA who is passionate, driven, and solutions oriented.
This is a full-time position, with an attractive total remuneration package and access to salary packaging (PBI).
Reporting to the CEO, the Finance and Corporate Services Manager is responsible for providing analysis, strategic thinking and advice related to Refuge Victoria’s long-term business development, workforce, infrastructure, and financial goals.
The Finance and Corporate Services Manager is also responsible for the oversight and smooth functioning of the financial, administrative, marketing & communications, payroll, and Information Communications Technology (ICT) functions. They will work with a small team of finance and administration staff to distribute the financial resources of the organisation and are responsible for the budget planning and financial reporting to funders and to the CEO/Board. The Finance and Corporate Services Manager will support the Leadership management team by offering insights and financial advice that will allow them to make the best business decisions for the organisation.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Plan, manage and develop Refuge Victoria’s financial, regulatory and legislative, administration, asset & fleet management, payroll, data, marketing and information communications technology (ICT) functions in an efficient and effective manner.
- Work as a member of the Leadership Team to ensure the effective and efficient management and operation of Refuge Victoria, in accordance with the values and strategic direction of the organisation.
- Prepare Refuge Victoria’s financial projections, budgets and reports, and administer all financial accounts.
- Manage, monitor and report on Refuge Victoria’s compliance with all statutory, funding, grant, contractual and legislative obligations
- Lead the Finance and Corporate Services Team, monitor performance of direct reports and provide timely feedback and support, including conducting regular performance reviews as required.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
- Tertiary qualifications in accounting and CPA qualified or Chartered Accountant
- Extensive experience in financial operations, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, forecasting, producing financial reports and other general accounting services.
- Experience in managing corporate services functions including ICT, data and reporting to external and internal bodies, Facilities, properties (leased), plant and fleet management.
- Proficiency in and proven ability to make improvements to accounting software packages (experience using MYOB desirable).
- Experience in the not-for-profit sector is desirable
