The agency supports the Chief Executive Officer and the Public Guardian to provide customer-centred services to the people of NSW, including some of the state’s most vulnerable. We do this by providing a range of multidisciplinary services including Will-making, trustee, financial management and guardianship services. We write more than 13,000 estate planning documents each year, support over 49,000 customers annually and manage over seven billion dollars in customer assets.

About the role

NSW Trustee & Guardian is seeking an innovative, strategic, and experienced leader who is passionate about delivering quality customer service outcomes, continuous improvement initiatives and driving opportunities for growth.

About the Opportunity

You will lead and oversee the division in the effective delivery of Wills and Estate Planning, estate administration, power of attorney, trusts and associated trustee services. You will lead the division by aligning people, processes and systems with organisational priorities and long-term objectives and driving sustained change and continuous improvement in program delivery. The role is a member of the Executive Leadership Team and plays a key role in corporate planning, decision-making and implementation. 

 

You will also be: 

  • Leading Estate Planning & Administration function including strategic forward planning and decision making, budget management and people leadership.
  • Driving the ongoing development of a pro-active customer service culture across the division 
  • Directing and overseeing evidence-based analysis, interpretation and delivery of high-quality customer-focused decisions to ensure outcomes align to customer needs.
  • Developing and leading identification, establishment and growth of new revenue opportunities within the division and provide advice to the senior executive to drive financial sustainability of the organisation.
  • Managing, developing and coaching the Estate Planning & Administration leadership team to ensure high quality customer services that inspires demand and drives new customer growth.

 

In this role, you will be based at our offices in Parramatta and Sydney. You will need to be able to travel to our other locations across the State as required.

Essential Requirements for the role

  • Tertiary Qualifications in a relevant human services area and/or extensive equivalent experience.

 

Key knowledge and experience 

  • Strong understanding of NSW government and NSW Trustee & Guardian’s key services and customer base
  • Strong understanding of working in a highly regulated environment including managing risk and change and knowledge of government operations including relevant systems, legislation and governance. 
  • Proven leadership experience and people management at a senior level
