About the role

Victims Assistance Program (VAP) offers specialist responses to victims of violent crime including intake and brief intervention, case management, (brokered) counselling services, and community education. Currently Western VAP is in Footscray, with successful co-locations with police in Sunshine, Melton and Werribee.

 

The VAP Team Leader Intake and Brief Response will work to provide strong and responsive leadership across all aspects and locations of the VAP program The Team Leader Intake and Brief Response is responsible for all aspects of the operational leadership of the VAP Intake and Brief Response team, providing day to day support, practice supervision, debriefing and secondary consultation.

Your duties include:

  • Recruitment, induction, line management and practice supervision of intake/brief response staff
  • Facilitating the development and maintenance of an up-to-date intake/brief response practice manual
  • Managing the resolution of practical issues that arise in respect to technology and the facility
  • Positive contribution to VAP team meeting and events, and to team culture building

 

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a service delivery area relevant to VAP or one or more of its functions (i.e., Intake, counseling, therapeutic work, legal, case management), eligibility for registration with the appropriate professional body
  • Experience in the provision of practice/clinical supervision to service providers working with clients with complex needs or who have experienced trauma and/or who are victims of crime. Applications will be considered from applicants who do not have direct supervision experience but who have demonstrated leadership attributes and a commitment to professional development in this area
  • Demonstrated functional leadership experience
